Frequently Asked Questions
Tarot is an interactive experience where we intuitively discover your goals and your passions and use them to realise the story of the life you want. Start by thinking about the part of your life you want to focus on: love, career, your life path... or we can take a general look at your energy and take the story from there!
100%! What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions.
Readings at Secret Garden are currently £35 for ~30 minutes. Readings at Events vary from £20-30 depending on the event and so the duration of the reading. Interesting in having Tarot Reading for your house or garden party? Those are generally £30 per person for a minimum of 4 people. Please get in touch and we'll work it out together!
My book Tarot For the Curious will give you a concise introduction to reading Tarot for yourself, friends and family, covering the elements of the deck as well as how to phrase your questions and lay out the cards to tell your story.
There is tons of content out there, but I've linked to some other cool sites for further inspiration!
You might have read that's it's "bad luck" to buy your own deck, but many of us have an extensive collection that we've bought for ourselves! The Rider-Waite-Smith is a great place to start, (and the one we'll use for telling your story). Once you've got a feel for the deck, pull a card a day and spend some time contemplating the image. Apps like Sanctuary let you do a daily read for free... check it out!
No form of divination can paint a perfect picture of the future, but it can help you understand where you are right now, and the options you have available to you. Tarot allows us to take time to reflect on the past, give insight into the present, and empower us to take control of our future.
All Tarot cards are inherently neutral, but some cards highlight challenges - life can't all be rainbows & sunshine, but awareness is the first step towards change for the better. There's no such thing as a "wrong" or "bad" tarot card to pull. Even cards that fall out of the deck by accident can give you insight, (we call them "jumpers"!) Most importantly, every card is a chance to discover and learn something new about yourself.
